Melbourne is the most populous capital city of the Australian state Victoria, better known as the Central Business District. The city is located on the southeastern coast at the head of Port Phillip Bay, on the banks of river Yarra, It is the second most populated city in Australia after Sydney
The city was named after the Prime Minister of England and the Political mentor of Queen Victoria in 1837; this was an honour for the 2nd Viscount Melbourne when Queen Victoria was on throne, after whom the state of Victoria was named.
